چکیده

Strain-hardening cement-based composites (SHCC) are a novel class of fiber-reinforced concretes which exhibit high tensile strain capacity prior to failure localization. Although the behavior SHCC has been matter study in numerous research works, these under other loading modes scarcely investigated. The article at hand addresses mechanical two types normal-strength subject uniaxial tension, torsion, and combinations torsional axial loading. investigation were made with polyvinyl-alcohol (PVA) ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers, respectively. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was applied evaluate multiple cracking process crack opening conjunction histories. demonstrates suitability torsion experiments assess multi-axial shear performance SHCC, highlights relation between transfer for forces, emphasizes importance type reinforcing fibers on strength ductility such composites.

Torsional Pile Subjected to Transient Loading in Viscoelastic Poroelastic Medium

Considering viscoelastic saturated soil, The transient dynamic response of an elastic pile is studied. The pile-soil system is divided into thin layers, the control equations of the soil are solved respectively by using Laplace transform. Considering the mixed boundary-value conditions at the interface of pile and soil, expression is derived to describe the relationship between the inner force ...

Numerical and Experimental Investigations on the Behavior of Steel-reinforced Concrete Columns Subjected to Eccentric Loading

Steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) columns, which are classified as composite columns, became the most widely used in recent years; because of their extensive advantages over the reinforced concrete and the steel columns. In this paper, the ductility index and its influential factors were explored to investigate the behavior of SRC columns. A straightforward approach was then proposed by establish...

Energy Absorption Analysis and Multi-objective Optimization of Tri-layer Cups Subjected to Quasi-static Axial Compressive Loading

In this paper, the energy absorption features of tri-layer explosive-welded deep-drawn cups subjected to quasi-static axial compressive loading are investigated numerically and experimentally. To produce the cups, tri-layer blanks composed of aluminum and stainless steel alloys were fabricated by an explosive-welding process and formed by a deep drawing setup. The quasi-static tests were carrie...

Mechanical Behavior of TWIP Steel in High Strain Rate Torsional Test

Advanced high strength steels (AHSS) have recently attracted great attention because of their superior mechanical properties. A modern group of these steels, known as twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steels, shows a unique combination of strength and ductility even at high rates of strain. In order to examine the functionality of such steels in dynamic loading conditions, their mechanical beh...

Optimal lower bounds on the dilatational strain inside random two-phase composites subjected to hydrostatic loading

Composites made from two linear isotropic elastic materials are considered. It is assumed that only the volume fraction of each elastic material is known. The composite is subjected to a uniform hydrostatic strain. For this case lower bounds on all rth moments of the dilatational strain field inside each phase are obtained for r ≥ 2. A lower bound on the maximum value of the dilatational strain...
